Raffaele Pé (countertenor), Chiara Granata (triple harp) & David Miller (theorbo)
Rising star countertenor Raffaele Pé returns to the Resonus label (see Bella Dama - Resonus RES10115) with an album entitled La lira di Orfeo: A tribute to Gualberto Magli.
Joined by renowned triple harpist Chiara Granata and theorbo player David Miller, Raffaele presents a beautiful programme inspired by the early-seventeenth-century career of the castrato Gualberto Magli and the continous journey of his life, beginning with a compacted operina of Claudio Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and works from Sigismondo D'India, Johann Nauwach, Francesca Caccini & Giovanni Trabacci amongst others. The album also features the premiere recording of Solo et Pensoso, written for this recording by Alessandro Ciccolini.

'[...] an ideal showcase for the virtuosity and dexterity of Pè’s voice, the three characters placing very different demands on the singer, a challenge to which he rises admirably; Chiara Granata on triple harp and David Miller on theorbo provide such a richness of sound that one never misses the full orchestra'
