Biography

Hailed by Classic FM as 'doing a great deal to encourage choral singing', Scott Inglis-Kidger is a conductor, vocal coach and singing teacher based in London. He is Founder and Director of Platinum Consort and Director of Music for Thomas's Choral Society. Born in 1984, Scott Inglis-Kidger was brought up on a farm in the North East of England, where he concentrated on his first instrument, the Scottish bagpipes. He discovered singing in his teens and was inspired to read Music at the University of Cambridge, where he studied voice with David Lowe. Whilst at Cambridge he gained an MA in Music and sang as a countertenor in the world famous King's College Choir.

In addition to conducting, Scott directs many workshops around the country and is much in demand as a vocal coach for individuals and groups, and as an early music specialist. He was previously Director of Music at Willington Independent Preparatory School and Thomas's Preparatory School, Battersea, establishing highly regarded liturgical choirs in both schools. His debut album as a conductor, Platinum Consort - In The Dark, was released to great critical acclaim. The BBC Music Magazine awarded five stars for sound and four for performance: 'Pristine tonal balance and pure tuning [...] intimate music-making [...] sensitively sung [...] vigorously projectedā€¯. In 2013 he will conduct the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in a Bach collaboration with Platinum Consort.
