It was there, in his debut as Frederic in\u003cem\u003e The Pirates of Penzance\u003c\/em\u003e, that he first encountered the music of Arthur Sullivan in a professional context. His roles with the company also included Lysander (\u003cem\u003eA Midsummer Night’s Dream\u003c\/em\u003e) and the Young Sailor (\u003cem\u003eTristan und Isolde\u003c\/em\u003e).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe has since appeared on many of Europe’s leading stages. Festival engagements include the Salzburg Festival and Glyndebourne Festival and Tour in roles such as Arsace in Cavalli’s \u003cem\u003eHipermestra\u003c\/em\u003e; Brighella in Strauss’s \u003cem\u003eAriadne auf Naxos\u003c\/em\u003e; and multiple roles in Handel’s \u003cem\u003eSaul\u003c\/em\u003e. His international appearances include Teatro Real Madrid, Opéra-Comique Paris, Grand Théâtre de Genève, and Opéra National de Montpellier.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlongside his operatic work, he is an established concert artist and a sought-after Evangelist in Bach’s St Matthew and St John Passions. He has performed with ensembles including Les Violons du Roy, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. His repertoire also includes Britten’s \u003cem\u003eWar Requiem\u003c\/em\u003e, Handel’s \u003cem\u003eMessiah\u003c\/em\u003e, and Vaughan Williams’ \u003cem\u003eOn Wenlock Edge\u003c\/em\u003e.
