Aïda Lahlou | piano

Born in Casablanca, Aïda started the piano aged five with Yana Kaminska, winning her f irst international competition three years later. In Morocco she received training from several teachers, including Nicole Salmon-Boyer from the École Normale Alfred Cortot. At the age of fifteen she moved to the UK and pursued her musical studies at the Yehudi Menuhin School, the University of Cambridge, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied in the class of Peter Bithell and Ronan O’Hora, graduating with distinction. Aïda has been performing internationally since her teens with a concert portfolio spanning fourteen countries. Her performances have been reviewed in four languages, and several artist profile films have been made about her for national or international TV channels, in both French and Arabic. Often blending classical performance with genre-defying concepts and multi-disciplinary practice, like her award-winning Classical Piano meets Stand Up Comedy show, Aïda is passionate about bringing the centuries-old craft of classical music to modern audiences.
