John Williams

'Harwood plays them all with supreme dedication and musical insight, captured in exemplary sound of stunning realism.'
Sinfini Music (5 stars)

'Richard Harwood’s imaginative recital exploits two canny insights, namely that these composers share both an acute understanding of instrumental sonorities and a communal commitment to the central importance of melody [...] warmly captured by the Resonus recording team'
Classical Ear (5 stars)

'[...] the performer in question is so completely and utterly in control of the expressive and technical dimensions of his instrument and its repertoire [...] This is music that in fact speaks very clearly without the picture, and Harwood's excellent recording does much to reinforce this view.'
Gramophone

'[...] an excellent album of solo concert music with great performances of all the works in question'
Film Score Monthly

'[...] an engaging idea, delivered by Harwood with fire'
BBC Music Magazine

'Harwood's album [...] has genuine appeal. It's a fascinating window into non-film music by film composers and the performance by the in-demand cellist is at times truly virtuosic and reveals a deep appreciation of the material'
Michael Beek (michealbeek.co.uk)

'[...] it’s a generous offering, and it features some real gems'
The Strad

'[...] Harwood plays with lovely fine grained tone and a singing line [...] performances are exemplary in all respects.
